Il Mantello dell'Invisibilità (Invisibility Cloak) rende chi lo indossa invisibile. Harry Potter ne eredita uno dal padre e lo usa nei vari racconti per girare indisturbato attorno la scuola. Il Mantello è largo abbastanza per coprire Ron e Hermione quando accompagnano Harry, anche se ciò diventa difficile avvicinandosi essi al completo sviluppo fisico.

I mantelli dell'invisibilità sono molto rari e costosissimi, e sono fabbricati a partire dalla pelle dei Demiguises, creature magiche erbivore che vivono nell'estremo oriente.

Nel settimo libro, Harry Potter e i Doni della Morte, si apprende che il mantello dell' invisibilità di Harry Potter è uno dei tre Doni della Morte e che per questo non si rovina mai (non si strappa, non si brucia ecc.) e non perde la sua capacità di rendere invisibili le persone (con i mantelli dell'invisibilità comuni invece l'incantesimo che rende invisibili perde la sua efficacia col tempo).

Alcuni maghi possono vedere chi è celato dietro il Mantello dell'Invisibilità: tra questi figura Alastor Moody.
